I have fond memories of Talgarth as I trained as a nurse at the Mid Wales Hospital in 1980.It's lovely to see pictures of the town, and I recently visited the old hospital grounds last year.I wonder what happened to the staff and residents that lived and worked there.

Me my wife and my huskies had the pleasure of spending the night at Sydna and Trixies a.k.a the Bell Inn , it was a lovely little inn with such a friendly land lady who cooked the most fantastic meals and breakfast. the weather was not so good but the kind locals and beautiful scenery made the rain unoticable, We have to go to the Builth Wells dog show every year so i hope there is room at the Bell next time. The word is spreading around my friends to on such a great place to stay!

Came to live here in 1973 with a view to moving on but still here in 2007. At first I wasn't too sure about the place but it has a certain something once you are accepted. Home town was Hay-on-Wye just down the road but have lived in London and Worcester. I have a gut feeling once the relief road is all finally finished that this little gem of a town will begin to sparkle again. When you are at the bottom the only way is up, it may take a while but it will be the 'in town' to live in. We as a community can breath a sigh of relief but there is one thing we must fight for and that is more local jobs and to keep the car park free of charge.I was down in Newent (my great grand father's home) in Gloucestershire recently, they have a free car park and it makes a big difference to attracting visitors.

I married the local butcher Bryan George and came to live in Talgarth 45 years ago. It is such a pretty little town with the river Ennig flowing through the centre and now with the relief road I hope Talgarth will be regenerated, because the large lorries will no longer be travelling through the centre.

I've just started doing some family research and my maternal line, through my grandfather, come from Talgarth. Does anyone know anything about the surname Poulton connected with the area? Circa 1870s- my great great grandfather John was born in Talgarth in 1876.

It has been quite a frustrating day today, but my frustrations seem futile after going down memory lane with such super views of Talgarth. I lived in Talgarth from 1942 to 1969 and have been in contact ever since, thus it is good to know that Talgarth can survive the many changes.

It's lovely to see pictures of Talgarth. My brother sister and I were evacuees to this area during the war,we lived in Treffeca, and walked to school every day to Talgarth. I can still speak a bit of welsh even after 65 years. If anyone has a picture of Treffeca I would love one?

Its so very nice to see the pictures from Gareth and a brief insight into its history. I will send some pictures in of the other end of Talgarth, showing the houses and other sights! As I own the New Inn further down Bronllys Road, a view up to the current pictures would show the town to its fullest.
