I agree women's football should get as much coverage as possible. Firstly when I was coaching with Newtown I never found their tactics unfair what so ever, every game can contain what you call unfair tactics such as shirt pulling ect, sometimes you get the decision and sometimes you don't that's part of football and all teams can be guilty of it but when the final whistle has gone it should all be forgotten, you have to win games as a team not rely on referees decitions. Thank you to John for your comments and in reply to the observer who decided to keep thier name annomemous for obvious reasons, we%2! 0come back by me installing confidence into my players unlike people like you who instead of encouraging youngsters to progress put them down so discourage them from trying, most of Treowen's players have nevr played football before and are playing against teams that have been playing for years.

They have done remarkably well in thier 1st season, the under 16's are sitting 3rd in the table and the ladies lost just 6-3 to Llantanat on Sunday so a remarkable acheivemant and they are progressing all the time, they don't care if they lose 28 nill they enjoy playing so why shouldn't they. As for their smoking issue I totally agree and have been addressing the issue, I have managed to stamp most of it out but some of them do sneak off for a crafty smoke when I'm not looking, I am looking at ways of stopping it all together. At the end of the day we have 38 girls at the club now who! if they wern't playing football would be walking the streets so it gives them something to focus on and a sense of acheivement when they have played well win or lose, I also do as much as possible to boost them all by taking them to the birmingham v arsenal ladies game and meeting the players for example, the under 14's game on the sat after was thier best performance all season, we are going to the women's F.A cup final in May which I hope will boost them even more and give them even more hunger to progress and will also be a great day out for all concerned.

Last comment's a little harsh and i'm surprised the editor allowed it! The League is here to provide a platform for girls/women to play. This is at any level.Providing you are affiliated to The FAW/Central Wales FA you have a right to play. All Clubs/players have to start somewhere and, at the start may well get 'hammered.Sadly these Teams/players have got to 'go there', to come through and develop/progress.OK,I agree smoking on sidelines is not really acceptable behaviour, but as far as I am aware no rules have been broken.Damaging themselves and their Club, and will not attract better players if itcontinues. However, this is up to Treowen. They can progress or stand still. As long as they pay to enter the League and turn up each week,we should support them.

Treowen... How do you come back from being beat 28 nil in the cup.Womens football in Powys has a great reputation and you are destroying it! Ure unfit an u all smoke in your kit! Thats a great example, do you agree?

What a great last couple of week-ends for Powys Ladies football. Llanidloes U16's making the final of the Welsh U16 Cup and now Newtown Ladies following suit in the Central Wales Ladies Challenge Trophy. Congratulations to all involved.

Quite mystified by 'Bobs' comments about Newtown. Newtown Ladies work extremely hard in training and show dedication and commitment to football on and off the pitch. They thoroughly deserve to be at the top of the league !!!Bob can you be more specific with your unfair comments please.

Jane, Llandyssil.
These sites are brilliant if used constuctivley and positively, but as 'Bob' has demonstrated they can be used by small minded 'supporters' to make derogatory comments about teams that beat their team.If you have evidence of 'unfair tactics' by Newtown Ladies then please let us all know so it can be dealt with - if not -Shut up for the greater good of Ladies football!!Come on girls positive comments only !

Just logged on to the site and terrific that you are helping to cover Ladies football in the area.I have watched Newtown Ladies for the last 4 seasons and would be interested to know what'unfair' tactics 'Bob'thinks they deploy?

Let's encourage more fair play in the game. I've seen Newtown ladies play some unfair tactics against other teams this season - let's stamp it out.

Great to see women's football being covered on here - well done BBC. Much better than County Times feeble attempt at covering womans football!!!
