On behalf of all Gate Collectors.
I myself do not enjoy going around the supporters, be it half time or at the kick off, collecting the fees. But, sadly its one of those jobs that has to be done each game. The monies collected do not go to the club, but to pay the referees traveling and time, pays for the food for the players of each team and pays for your entertainment. Many matches dont generate enough for either of these essential expenses and have to generate the monies elswhere. I would love to see the day where all players play football for free with no match fees, the kits are washed for free, the food is bought, cooked and plates washed for free, free training and equipment, floodlights (if your club is lucky enough) are turned on for free, I could go on. But we know it isnt, and thats why our 'volunteers' do this thankless task of collecting the £2 from you the spectators. The excuses then roll. " I have no money sorry", "Do I have to pay?" (said with a look of disbelief), "Im sub!" (in jeans), "£2!!!!!", "I'm not stopping", "I,ve only got 30p", "I've theft my wallet/purse in the car, "Its a public place!", "Im not even 16!".So lets give it a bit of thought Guys.£2 for 90 minutes of great local entertainment...

Quite agree. Can't help thinking the FAW / CWFA missed a chance 3 or so years ago when they reorganised junior football locally. They should have insisted that the S Powys teams play in their area but also given help to get a proper league up and running. That way there'd be a thriving junior setup in Brecon & Radnor today. Instead, with Builth on the brink, there are what, 3 or 4 under 14 teams left in the area. How many youngsters have been lost to football as a result?

Slartibartfast, i agree with you totally. The CWFA have some very old fashioned ideas, i think they need to get in the real world. They keep making these kids play in 1 league then another, some clubs comply, some dont. And as for the rule of primary kids not being able to play high school kids, yes thats fair enough to an extent, you wouldnt want a 7 year old playing against a 12 year old, but i think that when they get to the last year of primary, all players should be able to play in the age group above if need be, including year 6 (primary) and year 7 (high). That is where some teams struggle. Both leagues to a great job, but its CWFA who have the last say, so there is no hope of change if they wont listen to the leagues, parents etc

Listen! Its a sad state of affairs when local football falls at school level. Rhayader now have no Under 13's,14's,15's,16's nor youth teams. Where are tomorrows players going to come from?

Do Sennybridge get 3 points deducted for failing to raise a side to go to Rhayader Res?

Be very interestin league this year. I think 5-6 teams are in with a chance of winning. Hay and Rhayader res, builth, knighton, llandod, rhoscogh an dont write talgarth town off just yet.And be interesting to see which teams are looking to get promoted to the spar league if they win the league.

tom from town
how about rhayader reserves to win the league and get promoted AND Rhayader town to get promoted?? any odds on that early doors!!

From my expert analysis, i've gotta say rhayader res. will win the league...

Wise one from hay
Who will win the league this year? I would have said Talgarth Town but there seems to be a problem there early doors! Hay look strong but won't win it! I think its between Knighton, Rhosgoch & Llandrindod this year - my prediction probably Knighton!! - still a large gap between bottom & top & a few too many teams! Suprise package this time to break into top 4, I think Newcastle!!
