There is no denying Hay are a very good team, Gwernyfed have good players but seem to lack something as a team. Hay will win the league now and good luck to them in the Spar next season, im sure they will go from strength to strength. League Cup Final next, im sure the Gwernyfed players will be hurting and want to put this game behind them.

Wow! what a game! Saints vs Gwernyfed 1-1 at half time... looked a pretty even game... but the second half was totally different! Saints were all over them and manage to pull a 6 goal lead! Final score 7-1 to Saints! Its pretty obvious what team are going to win the league now! Come on you Saints!

Response to builthboys comments.there was actually only 2 minutes to go when the ref called time,which incidently was handled correctly by the ref who had a very good game.Dont know where he got 15 players &Supporters fighting,it was one moment of madness by a builth player which wasnt helped by a small section of builth supporters who clearly had too much too drink and had only come to the game to abuse the oppositon.some of the abuse directed at some of the sennybridge players was at times disgusting,and even went to the point as racist abuse to one of the players. My only hope is this small section of supporters do not give a great football club who i have had the great pleasure in playing for a bad name.the likes of skakey mike bufton and all associated with this club do not deserve it with all the hard work they have put in over many years.

Watched the Builth Wed v Sennybridge game on Sat. The game turned into a riot 15 mins from time, about 15 players fighting, and supporters running on and fighting too. The referee blew his whistle and walked off, abandoning the game. Not a good advert for football.

In reply to J's earlier comments regarding players fit to grace the Spar league!Sorry but there are better strikers than Kevin Jones in the Mid Wales League - for one Geraint Lloyd of Rhosgoch, excellent team leader and his all round play would grace any team in the Spar. Owain Lloyd when fit (as an out an out goalscorer) is more than a match too. Gavin Perry, excellent player but is not a forward, centre midfield or sweeper shows his talents off best. Mcnamara/Wisniewski/TD Lloyd/The Builth Frontman From Hereford close behind. Hay, Gwernyfyd both mid table maybe of the Spar as they stand.

i was at the game on boxing day. i saw the fight the colts put up it was a team effort not one player. i also saw llandrindods manager say some things he should not and i can not resay what u said any way well done colts you gave them a run and never stoped. Llandrindod was scared. also one more thing well done to sam on the pen save and well done to darren on getting another good goal keep it going boys and who knows were you two will be in the coming years.

Colts if you had read what I said.The colts team is not about me or Sam. Yes Sam is a great goalkeeper and if he did leave he would be hard to replace, but once again i'll say there are eleven players on the pitch at one time not just me or Sam. The colts would definitely be bottom if Sam and I were the only players on the pitch.

J.Getting the better of naive defenders in the mws is 1 thing but playing against more seasoned, fitter, faster, more intelligent defenders almost every week is much different. I couldn't think of more than a couple of players in the mws that could compare to a half decent defender in the spar. Until he's proved it on a regular basis in the spar i don't think you can compare him to the best spar strikers!

I'm afraid to say both Gwernyfed & Hay would only finish poss halfway in the spar..don't think personnel in both sides are capable..with the exeption of Gavin Perry & Kevin Jones who for me is prob the best centre-forward in both divisions!!

Massive game this saturday, like to wish both teams the best of luck. I agree with many others in thinking that Gwernyfed have the stronger midfield, with liam, matty drew and dyer controlling the middle of the park.. if the saints are to win.. they will need to find a way of getting past the midfield trio. Estimated crowd of 150 + lets hope both teams keep their cool, and the ref has a good game.

While everyone in all levels of football are entitled to their opinions i think that there are ways and means of doing so. You imply that you are asociated with the team yet you would rather hide in anonimity rather than put your views across to fill or other members of the squad. in doing this you are showing little or no respect to either fil or the lads you play with. while i don't wish to add fuel to the fire or give your views any credence i suggest the time has come for you to either 'put ! up or shut up'. you are either a disgruntled member of the squad (in which case speak up) or a member of another team trying to derail our season. On another note all the best to fil and the lads this weekend against gwernyfed in what i'm sure will be a great game.

I think the colts have got a tought weekend. Home to newbridge reserves. gonna be tough, the colts lack goals and i think they have the fire power in darren murphy to get the edge. hes just not strong enough, then away to penybont on sunday. well, the colts clearly out of there depth there.

Would like to say hay were an excellent side last night, and can see why they score lots of goals. As suspected though, far too attacking and not good at the back! Presteigne showed how far the gulf in quality is between the two leagues as hay r walking the mid south! Presteigne had several players out i believe, no tolley, stiles, bennett, or sutton. saying that, hope hay continue to play attacking nice football, and finally get into the spar as they will improve again im sure!

Why is everyone getting on Hay and Fils back. Not seen them play yet this season but i know from the last couple of years they have been a very good and fast improving side, who play the game properly. Fil is one of the nicest managers/coaches we meet throughout the the season, always polite and never has a bad word to say about anyone. The team he has put together and the way he has got them playing you could probably excuse him for being a bit arrogant, but personally i dont think i have ever seen or heard of him being like that. Keep it Up Fil and hope you get your reward of a place in the Spar league like you deserve.

Nobody at Hay thinks the league will be sewn up by Christmas. I've seen Gwernyfed play twice this season and they are very strong,I'm very impressed at the side Perry has put together this year especially the midfield. Rhosgoch are also very strong when they have a full squad to chose from and matched Hay for 70 minutes in all departments, I can't comment on the other top team as I've not seen them in action yet.I also believe that teams like Knighton, Builth and Llandrindod will get stronger during the season due to players returning after trying their luck at spa clubs. Good luck to all teams for ! the season..

Just for the record, it is Filip with an F and the surname is spelt Wisniewski, however, am very grateful for your kind words, nothing should be taken for granted and we will need to keep our focus . To use all the old cliches we will be taking it one game at a time and we are only as good as our last game. On that note I felt tonight that we really started to play the football we are capable of. Much respect to Builth Wednesdays they kept working hard and they could have scored on a couple of occassions. Man of the match was Ross Tonkin Builth goalkeeper outstanding well done keep going you will ! achieve over the course of the season.Finally all the sides we have played so far deserve credit as none have given up all kept trying for the full 90 minutes.Good luck to all for the rest of the season. not only did the colts hold them for 35 mins they held them with 6 sixteen year old players as well.their first was a own goal.which i believe their player is claiming it was clearly going wide. and it was only 4-0 after 60 mins keeper. but respect were respect is due hay are a outstanding footballing side. so good luck hay for the rest of the season.and keep on believing colts.

Colts played Hay and held them for 35minutes, then went on to lose. No shame though boys as you played...well against Phil'Hay-a-wye-tha' Wyesniewski and his apache's.
