Trefonnen local lad - as good as Ian Jones is and I agree he is as good as anyone else's other choice, rememeber 24 goals is not a SUM of the player, for one Trefonnen have scored more goals than say the Du or L,fechain but there strikers have probably equalled that amount in precentage of goals scored by there team. Plus if it ws just about goals why is Emile Heskey set for S A.

Ok this is how i see it, ageing defence, derek and darrren are slow, fullbacks not up to much, they ahve beaten teams from the midfeild onwards, gunn not a footballer to be honest, hit and hope and doesnt get invloved much, good lads in centre mid and up top. They need to strengthen in a few areas next year, defence will let them down!

Hi i was just wondering did anyone watch waterloo colts play last thursady. Although a poor results for the rover midfield dynanmo Nathan Jones virtually run the game from midfeild. I am predicting big things from the youngster who has really filled out over the last month and added pace and strength to the rovers midfield.

Just want to be the first to congratulate my local team Trefonen. They only need one more point to win the league or for Carno to slip up. I want to say well done to Nick this year think he has done really well and brought in a good squad. Tommy Lewis is definitely the best player in the league and Ian Jones best striker i think team of year would be made up mainly of trefonen. Zak, Scott, Al Gunn, Ryan all been amazing lately. James Lewis is mint and Derek and Daz are class. Good luck next season.

How did Llanfechain play the better football they were on the sides telling their centre midfielder to forget his game and just mark Tommy out of the game? Also how many shots did Moz have to save?? Yes Llanfechain battled well but if our finishing had been better myself included it would have been out of sight before thier goal. the keeper made 2 goods save from alex amongst other we had one off line and hit bar and missed open goal. We also had 3 starting players Scottie, Dutts and Ryan missing so dont talk such tripe and give us the credit where its due

Footy FanWere not trying to prove anyone wrong we are on the up and enjoying being Defaid Du which is a lot more positive than making slating comments about clubs for whatever reason you have decided. Well done Trefonnen - but cast your minds back to last season and stop feeling sorry for yourselves. You haven't had anywhere near the hard time compared to the Du last year-it just goes with being the best. And to all those who wrote off the Du (Ginger boy and footy fan etc) you were wrong!We have a great team now and some big name players considering us next season. But we only want one or two as we have such a good bunch of players now.

Brian Teagle has only played for 2 clubs - Defaid Du and on 3 occasions for Trefonen twice in the cup. We haerd this rumour months ago at Trefonen and our managers and committee checked it out with the league secretary before he played for us.Take its probably someone just trying ot shoot us down- keep trying.

When will clubs realise that they can only put 7 days notice on ONE player from the same club at any one time. 28 days must then elapse before a further 7 days notice can be placed to that club.Four Crosses did it to Welshpool earlier in the season, when Neil Breese, Scott Jones, Mark Bloom and another player joined them and now Llangedwyn seemed to have served 7 days notice on 3 Trefonen players.It's againt the League rules.

Dont think you can blame nick for players wanting to leave..he has a squad of 18 and if some cannot take not playing regularly then other clubs will pounce think you will find at least 2 from the three won't be joining Llangedwyn as for you hearing fromthe committee you're definitley wrong because they would also have informed you the one of the players cannot move again this season.Just someone else wanting to jump on the bandwagon slating a succesful side.

Lloyd I wouldnt have said that the game was over at half time, Trefonen had about 5 chances to draw it back level. Trefonen were bad on the day and Crosses played to their best, any other day i'd say Trefonen would honestly beat Crosses hands down. As for next season well.............thats next season!! Lots of changes can happen. 3 players going to Llangedwyn, not sure bout that one. If so their obviously going for one reason and that is they may not be able to get in the team. Why else would you leave a club at this point in the season when your team is top of the league......and i can assure you everyone gets on with the manager.

four crosses played well first half on saturday against trefonen and deserved to go into the break with a 3/0 lead could have been more . trefonen came out second half very strong our stand in keeper made a couple of bloopers and trefonen were back in game . trefonen played well but game was over by half time this is the first time we have played trefonen because they are in a lower league . but i must say they were a good bunch of lads the game was played in good spirits and hardly a dirty tackle credit to both teams they all came back to the pub after and had a pint . i am sure trefonen w! ill gain promotion this year but unfortunately as it stands thats as far as they will go

With regard to Trefonen's imminent success, don't get too carried away with your thoughts of winning Division 1 of the MAFL, because even if you win it by a country mile and only drop 3 points all season, you won't be going any higher in the Leagues, I can guarantee that will be the case.

To be fair Trefonen have the best village team locally. They have a very strong team, and if they were in mont div 1 this year then they would finish third. So they will win the league this year, then win the league next year, but the season after that will the players be happy winning the mont div again and again? Because spar cant accept you due to the bishops castle fiasco. So it may be sad that good players wont be able to progress higher up the pyramid. Having said that most of your squad wouldn't enjoy the trips to aber. To much time and effort required

Just wanted to say that the arrogance is not coming from our camp - we have not won anything as yet and all know this. With regards the Llani game we know it was off due to snow and now that this was infact true and people trying to stir should realise that games get called off at every level. As for the team of the season this has not come from a player as we all know some of those have only played and we are a squad not a team. Enjoyed this season and have had a good laugh with most clubs don't know why some people just want to stir.Those Trefonen haters probably are the same people who are knocking churchstoke cos they have improved and were knocking defaid du for doing well last year. These clubs that have no reserve sides work hard to attract players and do a good job instead of knocking them lets praise the standard this year of Div 2. As for monty and llani yes we got hammered by monty but the result was not a true reflection. But llani first team only beat llansantffraid reserves 3-1 so who knows what may happen - but those to will surely go up

I told the football club sec to wait for me to get home from working in Newtown so I could do a pitch inspection as there wasnt much snow in Newtown. We informed the league sec at half past ten after our inspection, we had a stronger reserve team that day than most due to the first team being involved in the mont cup so any player out of the radius for the firsts would have been playing you for our reserves. as for the electric problem I guess you lot are the authority on how floodlights work???

We tried our best to put on the trefonnen game the other saturday but with 2 inches of snow on the pitch it wasnt really a good idea, also most people in this league wont realise that if there is a problem with floodlights ie they wont come on then there isnt a realistic chance of playing a 7:30 kick off, we certainly aren't trying to avoid anyone just to put the first teamers in as the first team have enough games and are looking for promotion into spar one so we wont really want to risk any injuries! questions need to be raised as to why other teams are so far behind our reserves on games played! !!!

Watched Trefonen vs Llansantffraid Res on saturday. Don't know what happened to ffraid at start of second half, conceded 5 in 15mins. First half was good, quite a few chances for both teams, but after 60minutes mark the match was at walking pace. I would suggest a team of the year, but i don't know many other players, be a bit biased.

Looking through the comments recently made on here , I take exception to the lack of bottle comment made by JASON FOWLE in relation to Churchstoke F.C. As a proud ex-player I do wander how much or how little he knows of the recent history of Churchstoke , I Suspect the latter. As some people will know the club missed out on promotion several times by only a point or two a few years back. This had far more to do with sheer back luck rather than any lack of bottle. One example was the abandonment of a game due to serious injury while in front during the second half. In fact its quite ironic%2! 0to have the club accused of this when it battled through the seasons 2006/07 & 2007/08 while bootom of the league . As anyone involved in the grass roots game knows it takes a lot of bottle to keep going & putting out sides with little chance of a result. Several clubs in recent years have dropped out for a season or folded midseason , I think you will find Chuchstoke F.C held its head high and kept plugging away with great credit going to those involved at the time.As for this season the chance may well have gone but the future is bright. Nick the manager have done a fantastic job in rebuilding with a young side and the day will come when the club gains promotion.

I agree with Trefonen Local Lad, how can you say they were better than us, we have beat them quite comfortably in October, Score was 4-1. The way you have put what you said sounds like Carl Lewis is our only great player, it was a good team preformance all round. (Carl didn't make any saves in goal, or won ball in midfield as he is a striker, besides Tommy was man of the match). Meifod scored their goal when we had 10 men on the pitch and a stand in keeper.

Quite agree with the last couple of comments made. Think someone is having a laugh or bitter. Remember there is only one player who has left us to join a better side and PLAY EVERY WEEK is Daz and one day we as a club would like to think even he will come back.The rest have quit or gone to the mighty Llangedwyn. Nick is doing a great job and only winning the league is good enough with the quality he has on board. No pressure but good players should thrive on it. Wish people would stop commenting on here about us if they have no clue. We have got balance Derek Lloyd and Daz are quality centre halves and Lee Morris or Dave Davies could both play there too. Full backs we have plenty of so to say there is no balance is untrue. Nick has got 18 in his squad but as yet all season has not had all of us available. Besides we are all grown u p enough to fight for our place in the team so should not get annoyed if we are dropped. I think those who slate us like trefonen Yellow, Worried pit fan etc should go and watch someone else as they are not our true! fans as they are all happy with the work being done

I am not meaning to sound jealous I am merely repeating a conversation I had with someone who has been working with the MAFL league for two decades. Trefonnen can never go up into the Spar Mid because they reside in England Just like Bishops Castle. All you have to do is phone up the J T Hughes league representatives which I have and ask. Anyone officially involved with this league tells you the same thing. Many of the reserve teams share this situation. So Trefonnen till you die actually means lower league football for life!

We as a club have no problem with any player or team in this league and find the majority to play in good spirit and accept results whether for or against them but there are too many people out there who would like to stir things up between clubs/individuals without dragging themselves into any situations- the reason for hiding behind an alias.Good luck to all clubs this season and at the! end of the day the best teams will get promoted and the better players will be proving themselves at a higher standard in the future.Hope you all enjoy the hospitality when you come to play at the pit as much as we do when we play return fixtures.

We are not a big headed bunch either, we all enjoy our football and do they profess to be the best in the league, the comments on here are from other local lads/players and not us players/managers/commitee. We are doing ok at the moment and finding our feet with a newish side, must admit we have clicked these last few games but lets face it, its only Div2 of the monty!

tommy trefonen-the score was 4-2 against us by the way,wouldnt call it a hammerin.we hit the post 2-3 times and crossbar and had a goal dissaloud which was debatable so could of gone either way even though you probly played the better football in my opinion thanks to havin 3 in CM (and as we had 4-5 key players unavailable). i do feel you have a decent squad and will be challenging, some people on here just need to stop saying how good you are because it mite come back to haunt you.and i agree with ses fab ridge gas, not a scratch on the defaid du squad last year

just like to mention Defaid du, we did'nt make life easy for ourselves beating waterloo 8-1. missed so many chances!!!! but with all the rubbish players we've got whats to be expected. The Driver
I have seen Trefonen play on a couple of occasions this season - some proformances have been shocking and others have been pretty darn good. I think that they are beginning to play better football due to 2 things, 1, Mark Dutton Partnering Tommy Lewis in CM this allows tommy to play more as dutton seems to sit and control the flow of the game. And 2, Ian Jones - this lad can score goals for fun and I believe could play at a higher level than he is. I am not a fan or player I have just watched the odd game and this is my opinion.

Agree with Pit fan/man, Trefonen looked very good on saturday, they totally controlled the midfield area and had some very decent ball players in there. Team to look out for and on that evidence will take some stopping. Will score goals for fun and can see them beating teams with ease, certainly a div1 side on that evidence and a very good one at that.

Trefonen looked a cracking side on saturday-well balanced and sharp in attack. Simply tore Llanidloes to ribbons. Do think Darren and James Wigley will be big losses but on the evidence of Saturday they're more than well equipped.Any team just needs time to gel.Should be a competitive season in Div2 ahead.

onlooker i know what you mean, darren was the man on the team to keep the moral up, he would laugh and joke with both his own players and the opposition which i think went a long way. no one there to do that now and i heard that it was abit of a poor show on sat, mostly falling out between them selves. its a real shame getting all these ok quality players in, and slowly turfing out the local lads but how can it be trefonen fc if only 1 lad from trefonen is playing for them?? maybe im too old fashioned but i know im not the only one who think it.Good luck to Darren, hope you do well.

Sorry to all for trefonen being main topic but they are prob the only team who come on here.Congratulations to Daz who has left the club to play at a good level for a good team but what worries is that the players who have left i.e. Whigs , Horsebox , Adam , Neil , Lammy , Tom , Carl , Jennah , J.Goth , A.Goth and there is many more. All these players were the backbone of the club and although the team was not great the commitment always was.Always trained and after game was so much better when they were there to. I remember someone on this site saying Trefonen has lost its soul. Sadly I think it has.Hopefully somehow , I wish to be proved wrong.

Hi I'm a Trefonen lad - had a few good clubs but I know we will get there in the end. Still a new team Nick is putting together. He is a good young manager who should be praised for the work he is doing as should our players. We have some great talent at our club with Lloydy, Ken, Lee Morris, Dutts, Zak, Tommy, Jonesy, Alex Gunna, Powell, Nicky, Sammy Kerr and loads others. I think once we get a couple of wins together we will be flying. Also, Martin and Ryan training with us so think as long as Nick can keep everyone happy we will do ok.

Zak missed a pen against Du and didn't play well against Llanfechain. But Derek is mint, he did play for Chirk (i think). Tommy Lewis n Gunner r good in midfield, but will they play everyweek, cos they played 4 Llanfechain at the start of the season. Trefonen look by far the best team in the league. They have quality everywhere now, from Dereck Lloyd at the back to Tommy Lewis and Al Gunn in the middle and Zak Manhi up top. How they got these players is beyond me, but God they look good. Zak in that league will destroy defences and be top scorer - just my prediction.

True to say Defaid du are having a hard time of it at the minute though we've been through much tougher times than this! Money is hard to come by and players leaving left right and centre doesn't really help. But if all the doubters knew just how much it took to get into the league in the first place, everyone would know we don't care what anybody else thinks! We won't be dropping out this year I'm affraid! To say there won't be a team by Christmas is a load of rubbish. The team isn't as strong as last year but don't go writing us off. Losing so many players might just work in our favour! The spice boys going to Treffonen might just work against them too.

Someone told me I had been mentioned on here so thought I'd have a gander. Spar Mid Wales is a lot harder for sure, I struggled to start as you all know what I'm used to. But Neil, does the word "adapt" come to mind? I have adapted to the style of play and it is paying off and I'm scoring goals. footy fan - who cares! focus on your own team and not the Du. Give them a break... they had a fantastic team last season - and not a bad one now - get over it!!!
