Trefonen Local Lad
is there anything going at he end of the season because at this rate the league is going to be finished by begining of march. i just want to know if we play each other 3 or 4 times. please can someone fill me in on this.

caught Trefonens game against Dyffryn banw reserves at the weekend.Not always as easy as it seems playing a bottom of the table side,but Trefonen dealt with it without too many problems,credit to Banw as they battled,with ten men ,to the end.Things are starting to ''hot up'' now at the top end of the table,and will make for an exciting second half of the season

It is good to see Trefonen top of the table, but not sure if they will stay there. Got alot of games left, and three of those are Llanidloes, Churchstoke andCarno(all away). Not sure if we will win the league, still very open. Think the worst we can do is finish fifth.

The du are getting a decent side together agin not just because of the quality but because they do all seem to be gelling and bcoming a TEAM unlike last season, must take my hat off to scotty agin elvis and moley two excellent signings, have played with moley back in the meifod days and he will be the best left back in this league by far, watch out for his freekicks too.

i have been watching berriew res all year and i have to say the manager has done a great job getting young striker josh gethin back in the fold. The youngster looks a whole new man after a brief spell out of the game, after putting a performance worthy of a starting postion up top i belive he is one to look out for in the future. i have also n oticed the raw talent of the young ginger haired winger goes by the name of pricey.his raw pace has caused trouble for many defences can anyone confirm his name?

The whole of the club has agreed not to post any messages on this site at all so this will be the final one from any of us. We as a club have no problem with any player or team in this league and find the majority to play in good spirit and accept results whether for or against them but there are too many people out there who would like to stir things up between clubs/individuals without dragging themselves into any situations- the reason for hiding behind an alias.Good luck to all clubs this season and at the! end of the day the best teams will get promoted and the better players will be proving themselves at a higher standard in the future.Hope you all enjoy the hospitality when you come to play at the pit as much as we do when we play return fixtures.

just took a very quick glimpse at def du website and just want to put the record straight if i may...? i left the du before the mirror story came out, i am now playing at chirk in the welsh national league which we are currently 2nd with a very good chance of getting promoted to the cymru alliance! to many bitter people out there and you know who you are! i left for a better standard of football and to a club which is 2minutes from my house unlike travelling 25mile for a home game! good luck to all this season. bye

I am now a complete neutral on the matter but think llanfechain will win the league. as for trefonen vs churchstoke i watched that and trefonen only had 4 ex defaid du so churchstoke skipper do i detect a bit of bitterness when you were beaten by a better team if I was you i'd forget about winning and let you and weaver carry on whining instead just like he did this week when i watched you get a lucky point in the last minute. As for defaid du i dont think anyone is ruling you out but we all know you like to be the club that is hated - Trefonen havent even made a comment about you on here yet you still slate them... My predictions for top 5 are Llanfechain followed by Llansantfraid - Berriew - Trefonen or Defaid Du (the last 4 in any order)

We (the players) have been asked not to comment on here and this is what we are doing(apart from this one obviously) we are not even thinking about how good we are,or where we will finish, we will let our football do the talking. We are not a big headed bunch either, we all enjoy our football and do they profess to be the best in the league, the comments on here are from other local lads/players and not us players/managers/commitee. We are doing ok at the moment and finding our feet with a newish side, must admit we have clicked these last few games but lets face it, its only Div2 of the monty!

tommy trefonen-the score was 4-2 against us by the way,wouldnt call it a hammerin.we hit the post 2-3 times and crossbar and had a goal dissaloud which was debatable so could of gone either way even though you probly played the better football in my opinion thanks to havin 3 in CM (and as we had 4-5 key players unavailable). i do feel you have a decent squad and will be challenging, some people on here just need to stop saying how good you are because it mite come back to haunt you.and i agree with ses fab ridge gas, not a scratch on the defaid du squad last year

just like to mention Defaid du, we did'nt make life easy for ourselves beating waterloo 8-1. missed so many chances!!!! but with all the rubbish players we've got whats to be expected. Your results are better than last year but thats where it ends. Last years squad were a much better bunch of lads on and off the pitch. The Driver
I have seen Trefonen play on a couple of occasions this season - some proformances have been shocking and others have been pretty darn good. I think that they are beginning to play better football due to 2 things, 1, Mark Dutton Partnering Tommy Lewis in CM this allows tommy to play more as dutton seems to sit and control the flow of the game. And 2, Ian Jones - this lad can score goals for fun and I believe could play at a higher level than he is. I am not a fan or player I have just watched the odd game and this is my opinion.

Agree with Pit fan/man, Trefonen looked very good on saturday, they totally controlled the midfield area and had some very decent ball players in there. Team to look out for and on that evidence will take some stopping. Will score goals for fun and can see them beating teams with ease, certainly a div1 side on that evidence and a very good one at that.

Trefonen looked a cracking side on saturday-well balanced and sharp in attack. Simply tore Llanidloes to ribbons. Do think Darren and James Wigley will be big losses but on the evidence of Saturday they're more than well equipped.Any team just needs time to gel.Should be a competitive season in Div2 ahead.

I manage llansantffraid res and we have played teams this year that play good football. also lets lay off nick and the trefonen lads, hes trying to build a team and good luck to them.with response to llanfechain boy we havent called off any games because we aint got 1st teamers in, we are all one squad at llansantffraid.good luck to teams playing this sat, got a feeling trefonen will turn over llanidloes.

onlooker i know what you mean, darren was the man on the team to keep the moral up, he would laugh and joke with both his own players and the opposition which i think went a long way. no one there to do that now and i heard that it was abit of a poor show on sat, mostly falling out between them selves. its a real shame getting all these ok quality players in, and slowly turfing out the local lads but how can it be trefonen fc if only 1 lad from trefonen is playing for them?? maybe im too old fashioned but i know im not the only one who think it.Good luck to Darren, hope you do well.

Sorry to all for trefonen being main topic but they are prob the only team who come on here.Congratulations to Daz who has left the club to play at a good level for a good team but what worries is that the players who have left i.e. Whigs , Horsebox , Adam , Neil , Lammy , Tom , Carl , Jennah , J.Goth , A.Goth and there is many more. All these players were the backbone of the club and although the team was not great the commitment always was.Always trained and after game was so much better when they were there to. I remember someone on this site saying Trefonen has lost its soul. Sadly I think it has.Hopefully somehow , I wish to be proved wrong.

Have been informed by people at the top that should we ever be good enough to ever get promotion to the spar which is at least 10 years away we will get it. Besides the welsh FA should not be so shallow to let us in this league and not any others but this does seem to be the case?. llanidloes res 2 banw res 1, still a loss but a much improved performance from the first 4 games, draw would have been a fairer result. We must have shocked llanidloes as after a 5-0 thrashing by carno and 9-1 by llanfechain the daffs must have been expecting a walk in the park but we had more fight and a want to win more this week. but still llani r an excellent team and we wish them all the best for the season. next week llanidloes town 1st's. lets see what we r really made of

Hi I'm a Trefonen lad - had a few good clubs but I know we will get there in the end. Still a new team Nick is putting together. He is a good young manager who should be praised for the work he is doing as should our players. We have some great talent at our club with Lloydy, Ken, Lee Morris, Dutts, Zak, Tommy, Jonesy, Alex Gunna, Powell, Nicky, Sammy Kerr and loads others. I think once we get a couple of wins together we will be flying. Also, Martin and Ryan training with us so think as long as Nick can keep everyone happy we will do ok.

OMG! What makes you think that TFC r d best team in d league. Zak isn't that good, hasn't scored yet, Alvin and Ian Jones r better atm. Zak missed a pen against Du and didn't play well against Llanfechain. But Derek is mint, he did play for Chirk (i think). Tommy Lewis n Gunner r good in midfield, but will they play everyweek, cos they played 4 Llanfechain at the start of the season. We get the players because Nik is well known in the Oswestry football Comminity.

The reason why is they take their chances and we dont plus we are on and off defending days. i think it also depends on the middlefield he plays.as for you thinking zak is the best striker in your opinion which i think is completely wrong because the has played 180mins this season and hasn't come close to scoring yet...

Trefonen look by far the best team in the league. They have quality everywhere now, from Dereck Lloyd at the back to Tommy Lewis and Al Gunn in the middle and Zak Manhi up top. How they got these players is beyond me, but God they look good. Zak in that league will destroy defences and be top scorer - just my prediction.

True to say Defaid du are having a hard time of it at the minute though we've been through much tougher times than this! Money is hard to come by and players leaving left right and centre doesn't really help. But if all the doubters knew just how much it took to get into the league in the first place, everyone would know we don't care what anybody else thinks! We won't be dropping out this year I'm affraid! To say there won't be a team by Christmas is a load of rubbish. The team isn't as strong as last year but don't go writing us off. Losing so many players might just work in our favour! The spice boys going to Treffonen might just work against them too.

Someone told me I had been mentioned on here so thought I'd have a gander. Spar Mid Wales is a lot harder for sure, I struggled to start as you all know what I'm used to. But Neil, does the word "adapt" come to mind? I have adapted to the style of play and it is paying off and I'm scoring goals. I admit not as many as I would in the JT Div 2 but I'm sure it's obvious that would happen to anyone. Lake: Brunt of the team went to Llansantffraid, 1 to Llanffylin and 1 to Dyffryn Banw

Neil, most players wouldn't score 30+ goals in the Spar Mid BUT nevertheless, Tim Gomm WILL score and has already scored goals in the Spar. His record won't be as prolific but he'll still score and cause problems. Obviously you don't know Tim that well either because he's got more in his locker than just his pace.

Unlike League 2, in the Spar Mid, Teams have to work the ball to make it through defences rather than lumping it over the top for players to run onto. Tim Gomm will not score as many as he will not be able to rely purely on his pace this season. This is why he is out of his depth Glen.

Nearly all of last seasons side have left for one reason or another. Some like webby, jt and oakley to play a better standard. Others because they don't like a certain player who has signed this year and others who dont want to look like clowns to the national media. I can't see defaid du will having a team by christmas.

Watched Trefonen against Llanfechain last night, Llanfechain look to be a much improved side since last year, played some good football, their LB was funny, should of won an oscar for diving.It was a good game, except both linesmen were cheating, espically llanfechains. Every pass Trefonen played they would call it offside. Ref should of put a stop to it.Think Llanfechain and Berriew will be main league contenders. Du sound poor after losing to Kerry res
