Llanfair Lad...Thanks for your kind words. The referee was a bit strict on the bad language, but he did bring the captains together and warned them before he booked anybody. These are not laws that are coming in next season, the law about foul and abusive language has always been in existance, its just that referees have been asked to be more strict next season. Personally I dont like to hear the 'F' word bellowed out across our grounds but I did feel sorry for one of your lads who said it reasonably quietly after being clattered by one of our boys. There was three booked incidently and it stopped the swearing.

Monty your players gave us a real test on Tues , from the games i have seen at home i think it was one of hardest this season . I wolud just like to say that maybe some of your fans need to calm down a bit...Everyone is alound there say , but for 90 mins this person thought the ref was wrong , or a player should of gone through someone , we dont need people like that in watching our league . When all is said and done its a amateur league , and refs will make mistakes , as to will the man running the line.

But as far as the cancelled game goes- with all the bad sportsman things that we both know can happen in and around football – you surely must appreciate a small team (with no reserve team to dip into) treating a Cup Final the next day (only our 2nd ever) as an important historic event for the club. The Llanfechain KO has always been a special Cup to us, as it is the Cup that gave birth to the Black Sheep Defaid Du FC.Good luck with promotion, I think you will get it.

Robert Scott...I think you will find that most club linesmen show a little bias toward their own club. I am proud of our club linesman, who I think is one of the fairest in the league. The only downer in this league is clubs calling games off because they can't field a team and then playing in a cup final the next day!!

Jonesey, i remember that convincing 5-4 win, when llanfair res played most of the game with 10 men, had no 1st teamers but four lads who normally warm the bench starting and you scored from a soft penalty, free kick and an off side position all down to poor refereeing! still it helped your goal difference

I notice nobody says much about Montgomery on this website. When they win all their games in hand,they will be 1 point behind llansantfraidd and have to play them at home. Montgomery will win the title along with a few cups i believe. They have not conceded any goals in last 6 games and are scoring on average 5 a game with the goals coming from every position. Montgomery will be playing Spar Mid Wales in 2 seasons!!Good luck to you all trying to catch Montgomery!!!

It is so refreshing to know that the future of this league is being carefully monitored by your good self. Crazy horse from welshpool seems to be eating his comments after losing to llansantffraid on the 16th, should never get too confident it never works. I have watched all teams in this league now apart from 2 bottom teams, best football is played by llansantfriad, welshpool and newtown by far, montgomery are a good strong team but not pretty. Scouted a few good young lads to make the standard go forward in these lower leagues and it is pleasing to the eye.

I think its very hard at the moment for the small clubs in the rural areas such as the lake, llanfair etc to attract new players when the bigger towns near by are stealing them all. Also heard bout some players in division 2 are getting paid. How are the minor clubs meant to compete with that when we can just afford a ref!

Surely though this behaviour is unacceptable!!! we are in the amateur league not the champoins league! Linesmen are hard to get as many lads feel uneasy giving decisions when they have so called 'fans' giving abuse! I was at that game and the Llansantffraid fans should be disgusted with themselves! As I said we are in the amateur league not the champions league this sort of thing should not be tolerated in this league.

When does banter become abuse, its a fine line. Linesmen we all agree have difficult jobs to do, and many (mainly young lads) do not want to do it. Mistakes are made and many of these young lads are intimidated. This season I have seen only approx three linesmen from opposing teams who have been very fair. Credit must be given to Llangedwyn's liner this week. Very honest.

Went to watch Four Crosses Vs Guilsfield Res quite a good game in all fairness but one lad stood out to me as having so much ability at this level, The big lad who came on sub for the corsses was a class act ok he's overweight but the touches and vision was different class im sure if he gets fit will be at alot higher level. Our game was off at the weekend, so i watched the mighty Ffraid against Llanfair Reserves. They are a good team and will no doubt gain promotion to the first division. But when they do, they will need to leave behind several of their fans, whose behaviour was totally unacceptable for the Mid Wales League.

LYFC You said Llansantffraid would take some stooping,well Montgomery did it yesterday in the Mont Cup winning on penalties after extra time. Monty were 3 players short due to unavailabillity, had to sub one of their best players after 20 minutes because of injury. They should have won the game comfortably in 90 minutes, on this showing Montgomery will win the league at a canter. Llansantffraid will be fighting it out for runners up with Newtown Colts and Welshpool Res.

Monty ARE concentrating on promotion but we keep getting easy cup draws with spar teams away from home. Remember a game of football lasts 90 minutes and if someone gets fouled in the penalty area its a penalty.

Bishops Castle, Llanfyllin Town, Llanfyllin Town Res, Llanidloes and Newtown Rangers have all lost to Montgomery this season. Llansantffraid, Newtown Colts and Montgomery wouldn't look out place in the spar.
