How much worse do Aber have to perform before some action is taken? A 3-0 defeat to Airbus last weekend was a flattering scoreline for Aber and had it not been for some brilliant goalkeeping by Stephen Cann, the margin could have been far greater. The ever-increasing hoof-and-hope style of play was never going to work against Airbus' defenders, all of whom had several inches height advantage over the lone front target man, Luke Bowen, and consequently Aber won nothing in the air up front and never looked like doing anything even when the ball was on the ground. Compare that with the pass and go style of play expertly carried out by Airbus. It was like watching teams from two different divisions.Occasionaly there was a glimmer of some productive passing play, particularly from Luke Sherbon, Steve Bowen and Robert Evans, but all too often this broke down again as soon as the forwards attempted any passing or taking on of players. Steve Bowen and Rob Evans again both came on as substitutes, having been overlooked again for starting places and both made positive contributions to the game, but why on earth was Kristian James not used? He shouldn't even be on the bench - he should be starting too!The old regime - management and team that is - is looking tired and weary. There is no imagination, no enthusiasm and no entertainment any more.

Here we go again. Why don't Aber learn from their mistakes? We were lucky to end up where we did last season after the disappointing end to it but all the same mistakes are being made again but this time at the start of the season.Players coming straight back in from injury, players with a total lack of enthusiasm and effort and new players brought in who, apart from Mike Walters, have yet to prove themselves. We can't afford the luxury of prolonged experimenting any more than we can afford to continue to carry players who aren't performing.Last weekend's game against Presatyn showed that. Apart from Sherbs, Walters and Kellaway and a few moments from Morgan, the standard of football was dire until the substitutes came on. Rob Evans, Steve Bowen and Christian James transformed the game. It was just a shame that they hadn't been brought on sooner, or even better - started. No player should have an automatic right to starting, yet Aber seem to have 11! These 3 have all proven themselves last season and again this season and if there are any players who deserve an automatic start it is them. And once again management appear to be totally oblivious to the talent coming through in the Reserves side this season. Some of the established and proven players such as Elian Evans and Tom Bowen deserve opportunities to play on the big stage...

As a regular follower of the Seasiders I am extremely disappointed in the team's performance this season and the management's weakness to do anything about it. Week after week we have seen ever-increasing complacency creeping into the team with threats of players being left out but it never happening. The Reserves team has made far more enjoyable watching this season with a much more entertaining style of football but unfortunatly very few of them getting opportunities tom show what they can do on the big stage.Very rarely do the first team management attend the reserves games, even when the firsts aren't playing, so they can't have any idea of the potential coming through the ranks and therefore insist on keeping in players who lack any incentive as they have no fear of competition for their places.
