February 2006 update...
"The Welsh Federation of Sea Anglers has recently appointed me as the new Welsh Ladies Team Manager. I live in the beautiful seaside town of Aberystwyth where my husband and I run a fishing tackle shop. I am originally from Bristol where I spent 21 years working as a nurse.
My interest in fishing began as a small girl when I spent a lot of time fishing with my Dad. When I left school and began nursing, I did not fish for several years until I met my husband and got the fishing bug back again!
I enjoy all types of fishing but over recent years have concentrated on my passion for sea fishing. Fishing is a big part of my families life. We fish regularly - 2 or 3 times a week, and more when we can. We fish with the local Sea Angling Club and I also help out with the junior section of the club.
Ok enough about me - I am looking for ladies with a similar passion for sea fishing to join me in the Welsh Ladies Team. I will be holding 2 Qualifier Matches this autumn in order to form the new Welsh Ladies Team.
Any lady can take part, provided they are Welsh, have lived in Wales for 3 years or have Welsh born parents. If you are not sure you have enough experience then just give me a ring and I will explain in more detail about the Qualifier Matches and what will be involved.
Sea Angling is a male dominated sport and we need to alter the balance and create a Ladies Team that Wales will be proud of.
The next event for the Welsh Team will be the Home Internationals in 2006. This prestigious event involves teams from England, Scotland, Ireland and Wales. I am hoping this will be the year that Wales celebrates its angling achievements.
Come and join me to make this happen for Wales in 2006."
