I have just read some of the comments about last year's event. I feel that in extremly challenging circumstances, the Royal Welsh Society did a wonderful job of staging the show. We were all very lucky that it was even held at all. Organisers have no control over the weather, but their committment to the premiere agricultural event in the world is unparalleled. Well done and thank you to all involved.

Well what can I say, show excellent when there, however took 2hrs to drive 2 miles Monday. I visited the show with 4 children, ages 10, 4, 20mths, and 6mths, of which the younger were in a double buggy. I trekked through about 8 inches of deep slushy mud. The stewards were not much help when asked the easiest way over with buggy. We had a week ticket, by Wednesday I parked up on bank side of road...that way so much easier with children. I think families with small children should have same accsess as disabled, and share their parking. However shall be back next year, it can only get better...

We set off from home at 7.40am and drove straight into the car park at the showground, we were directed to park on the bank in a field and taken to the entrance by landrover. Although it was wet underfoot, pathways were covered with bark. We had a lovely day at the show as the sun shone in the afternoon. No problems getting off field as I was facing downhill and drove straight onto the temporary road - plenty of help available if we had of got stuck though. People just need to set off early. Will be back next year!

I'm just thrilled to be able to watch this over the internet! I have a Welsh Pony of Cob Type (C) and sure wish I could have been there in person. Thanks!

It seems to me that you can't please all of the people all of the time. It's been wet, every other show has the same problem with the surface, why pick on this one? When the weather is good, all you who complain would be raving about how good it is. Grow up, smell the coffee and go prepared, or not at all.Dogs. Why take them at all? I am a dog owner by the way, so hardly anti-dog. They should be at home, not trampled on by milling feet and getting tangled around chairs, children and everything else. As for moving to the NEC! Get Real. The Showground at Builth is fantastic, w! hy take the Welsh Show out of Wales or is this another directive from Brussels? Oh, in case you read the news, I can't imagine why a little mud is upsetting you too much, I live in Burford, my house has flooded, historical bridges have been wiped away, people are facing moving out, losing everything, some things are a little more important right now. Spare a thought for the thousands of British people who really are facing hardship right now!

Totally Fedup
Nightmare! Mud, Queues, Rain, Misery and Choas. An organisational disaster. The sooner the Show moves to the NEC the better - at least they have proper facilites, tried and tested contingencies and effective event management.

Well what a shambles, this event should never have taken place its an absolute disgrace. Vehicles were being towed into the car parks and then you had to wade through 6 inches of mud in the fields to get to the buses. On arriving at entrance D we were confronted by a lake of water across the entrance and the stewards were unconcerned,we then had to walk half mile to another entrance to get in.It was disgusting that they were charging full price after we had been all morning stuck in the traffic(3 hours),and had missed many events and to top it all the programm! es were £6 each, catering prices were way over the top,i was charged £10 for two pork rolls and two cans of coke. This event is getting a rip off for working class people ,dont they realise that many that support this event are on minimum wage.

Went today (Tuesday). A bit apprehensive after stories of 10 mile tail backs yesterday, but drove right upto where you ususaly tuned in at industrial estate on A481. Sat in slow moving traffic for about 10-15 mins only, and directed into field. Ground wet & churned up but no problem to 4X4, and tractors on hand to help ordinary cars. Show great as ever and exit very easy. Well done everyone in face of awful conditions - I'll definitely be back next year!

Drove for 3 hours Monday am starting at 7am from home, stopped in traffic queues at 10am, rang the Welsh show line at 10.30am to find out what was wrong, visitors not listening to stewards who were trying to park them!!! Where I wonder, in muddy water logged fields? Finally arrived at entrance to a car park about 11.15am closed because of conditions. Another 45 mins queuing till next car park, meantime news on the radio about 10 mile tailbacks in both directions to show ground. We gave up when told the car park was difficult to drive on because of the mud and water. Drove past all the queuing cars on way home, never again, the ground itself may have been just about OK to negotiate but the organisation to cope with the visitors and cars in their thousands, was something of a complete and utter disgrace to the officials who put this show on the road!!!!! I wonder what it was like to get out of the car parks at the end of the show, where there enough tractors to tow people off?

Just spent 2 hours driving 2 miles to get into the show where I was meant to be on duty in the lost childrens tent. Security guard told me all car parks under water no hope of parking anywhere! Did same distance home in 5 minutes!!!
