My Secret Wales - Abbey Cwm Hir

My Secret Wales is a new BBC Wales television series exploring some of our country's hidden gems - from stately homes to abbey ruins, historic cottages to wartime churches.

  • Watch a clip of the proramme in a new window...

  • In all, six secret wonders across Wales feature in the series, each one chosen by the local people who know them best.

My Secret Wales, programme 2 is broadcast on 31 March 2009 and features a mansion at Abbey Cwm Hir near Rhayader.

Abbey Cwm Hir is a gothic fantasy mansion in mid Wales where nothing is what it seems. Julie McKeown - a local horse trainer with a passion for history - takes us on a tour of this family home with a difference.
