"There are still tickets left which is pretty amazing considering the quality of the line-up. This years festival site is going to be somewhat more compact than in previous years but at the same time it is featuring a wide ranging and outrageously classy line up of talent.
Special mention must go to New Orleans' own Hot 8 Brass Band who have epitomized New Orleans street music for over a decade. The band plays the traditional Second Line parades, hosted each Sunday afternoon by Social Aid and Pleasure Clubs, infusing their performances with the funk and energy that makes New Orleans music loved around the world.
We are also delighted to have the legendary Berlin 13 piece ensemble 17 Hippies. For the past 14 years Berlin's very own 'orchester spezial', have been playing their whirling, crashing, diving, bobbing and weaving mixture of music from around the world, all over Europe ... and beyond. Imagine a mix of Eastern melodies, Balkan rhythms, French chanson, Anglo song writing, Cajun tunes, all perfectly blended together, creating their own unique "Berlin Style" of ... yes ... world pop music. Oh, and they sing in German, English and French and all seem to play at least 3 or 4 different instruments.
If you lay that alongside a line up that includes the Dub Pistols, Maroon Town, the very welcome return of The Destroyers, Royal Gala, reggae from Laid Blak, Yes Sir Boss!!!, 3 Daft Monkeys, Moishe's Bagel, Banda Bacana, Martin Harley, Helen Watson and Snake Davies's band Burden of Paradise and The Amigos then you had better make sure you're there.
Hey but that's not all. This year there is also a heavy dose of really laugh out loud music like The New Rope String Band and Cosmic Sausages, musical theatre in the shape of Loon and Theatre Mimi not to mention a special piece of black comedy written by Joel Horwood plus loads of magicians, jesters and walkabout acts and I haven't even started on all the local talent like Dirty Ray, Deep Elem and Little Rumba.
Why don't you just phone up Ludlow Assembly Rooms (the ticket agents) and book a weekend ticket for £65 right now. If you need any more details or want to hear some music or look at pics of the line up go to the Sheepmusic website which has a link on the rigt hand side of the page.
