I was evacuated here in 1939.Stayed first at Gogerddan House, Ynyslas for two years then a house on the seafront. A mine was washed up on the beach, and was blown up by the Army - great fun. We collected shrapnell for months.

Borth! wow, what memories! When I was a little girl we used to spend many happy holidays there. My dad was a painter/decorator and he used to paint a bungalow that belonged to a family called Brotherton. In return we used the bugalow for a holiday, it was just down from the monument and I remember walking up to it many an evening before bed! It is my fondest memory of a childhood holiday and would love to be in touch with a member of the Brotherton family?! dating back to maybe 1969!

Oh, what memories, when I was a young girl, I dug up a mortar shell on the beach. The area was evacuated whilst it was dropped out at sea.
