Last updated: 20 June 2006

This panoramic photograph was taken on the square in Llanwrtyd Wells in May 2006. The image shows the Neuadd Hotel - a haunt of the late Screaming Lord Sutch - and the Red Kite statue which takes pride of place at the heart of the town.

When I was twenty I spent in Llanwrtyd Wells a wonderful time. I arrived there with the purpose of learning English and I used to work at the Neuadd Arms Hotel. The landlord (Mr.Gordon Green) and his wife were my Welsh parents, treated me as a daughter and I could never forget such a good experience. I enjoyed so much the beautiful sceneries, the wash pool, my mountain bike rides and walks around. I must tell you, you will always be in my heart. Thank you.

Seeing these images brought back happy menories of holidays spentr here during the early 1950s. I remember also the wells where we would go every morning to partake of the waters. Then in the nights we would go to the concerts in Victoria. As children we thought Llanwrtyd was an enormous place. We used to stay with Mr. & Mrs. John Jones and their son David at the Chapel house, but I can't remember the name of the chapel. All I know is that we spent many, many happy weeks there and have visited a few times during the latter years. How it brings back incomparable memories.
