My name is Alan Rothwell and I took part in your Santa Run in 2003. I thought it was a fantastic event and a great day out for our family. On the way back to our home in West Kirby (Wirral) I discussed the idea of putting one on in Liverpool - my home town - and we did just that the following year!! The Liverpool 5K Santa Dash has gone from strength to strength over the last three years and has raised around £200,000 for the Sunrise Fund which the official charity of the Liverpool Daily Post and Echo. We have had Kenny Dalglish and Ian Rush taking part and along the way picked up Guinness Book of World Records for the 'Most Santas In One Place'. Last year we took just over 5,400 entries and we expect the numbers will grow again this year to around the 7,000 mark. I hope the Newtown event goes ahead in 2007 and I would like to wish everyone who put on the event the very best of luck. I know and fully appreciate the amount of effort that goes into events like this and your team definitely deserves all the support it can get.
