David Bound Oswestry
My family lived in Llandinam for at least five generations. My father Ernest Bound worked for Lord Davies before the war and left the village with our family in 1938 to live in Oswestry some 40 miles away. we left behind aunts uncles and cousins. We continued to visit and take an interest in Llandinam over the years. Today their are no Bound,s left in Llandinam, appart from 42 in the cemetry. but our interest continues. Its good to see the place is looking so well kept, and with village Hall in such fine condition. In recent years I have been collecting information on my family tree, Jeremy Prices books ! on village life have helped in viewing the village in times past with greater clarity.

Noreen Smith (nee Wallis) Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
I lived in Llandinam as a teenager, in the 1950's, went to Newtown Grammar School and later to work as receptionist/animal nurse to Veterinary Surgeons in Newtown, travelling every day by the train which still ran from Llandinam, via Moat Lane to Newtown. I was married from my parents home in Llandinam in 1959 and for the last 36 years have lived in Brazil with my husband and our six children (all married now too!a nd we have 25 grandchildren!)We still have many happy memories of Llandinam and Newtown and each day when I open my computer I am reminded of Llandinam as I have a photo, taken in 1994, as my screen wallpaper, showing the view of Llandinam from the road just above where I had lived. I will send this photo to the email address given.
