YFC 70th
Last updated: 15 February 2008
Montgomeryshire YFC celebrates its 70th Anniversary in 2008 and in February the Montgomeryshire YFC member of the year, Angharad Evans of Dolfor YFC, told us more about the year:
"This year Montgomeryshire federation of YFC is celebrating being 70 years old, with many events planned for the year.
An 'Evening of Reminiscence' was held at The Elephant and Castle Hotel in Newtown attended by many past County Chairmen and Office Staff.
Members past and present including the county's youngest member planted 10 new trees at the YFC plantation at Clywedog Dam.
A concert called Reflections was also held at Theatr Hafren in Newtown, which I was lucky to be in.
Also planned for the Summer of 2008 are: an 'Old Stars' Concert featuring members who have gone on to become famous in music, stage or television, and the following night, a 'Night with the Stars' - a black tie and evening dress celebration.
A food festival is also planned in a marquee in the grounds of Coed-y-Dinas, Welshpool.
This 70th year promises even more fun and excitement in Montgomeryshire, and I hope we can look forward to another action-packed 70 years to come."
