More about this location...

"By George Morgan of Carmarthen - our old friend. Listed Grade II* and deservedly in that top 3% of quality buildings in Wales. David agreed with me that this is a really significant architect and, if his masterpiece is his first building in Carmarthen (the chapel in Lammas Street) then for £8000 he gave Newtown nearly as fine a building, and one that is certainly very much bigger. The gabled front with its giant Corinthian portico glowers across the road at the St David's parish church built 30 years earlier, and lets it know that we Welsh people are chapel goers. Thomas Penson's church building seems to shrink with embarassment in the face of the sheer exhuberance of this astonishing façade."

Mr J Williams, Bettws Cedewain
ref 17 High St; Excellent work,a real credit to the "Sandblaster" who had a hard time to complete the work in such limited time, space and daylight, considering most of the work was done at night
