"'Summer, what power you have to make us suffer and like it!'- Russell Baker.
For the past two weeks the warm sun has descended upon the pebbly beaches of Aberystwyth, signalling to us all that summer has begun.
Already the lethargy of heat and warm thoughts has slowed down the momentum of the town.
Merging into the attractive panorama of the town are bodies scattered semi-naked around the harbour and beaches, basking in the waves of light and warmth that stream down upon them.
People have rushed to the beach, set up camp and relaxed. Its beautiful here in sunny Wales at this time of the year, the sun embraces us with its pleasant rays and the sea cools us when we become too hot.
It makes the blisteringly cold winter bearable, as the gorgeous little town transforms in agreeable weather to a truly amiable place.
Students placidly laze about, families congregate together happily and O.A.Ps, clutching hands with their loved ones, shuffle down to the beach all of them with the plan to take pleasure in the birth of a summer in Aberystwyth.
Summer is pleasant for everyone here, it really enhances the community spirit that engulfs Aberystwyth on occasion, we all occupy and share the same pebbly beach and it's evident that we enjoy each others company.
Students spend their loans on inflatable dinghies and enact war on each other upon the crystal clear waters.
Parents happily swim with their children and people dot the beach, stretched out sunbathing, smiles upon their faces.
It's a picturesque view of the town, and we are aware that it won't last forever, so we grab our friends and beloved companions and head to whatever patch of sun drenched heaven we can find."
