"I started this whole thing after not seeing any good free advice for DJ's in 2006.
So after opening an account on youtube I began to upload some basic tutorials. At the time there was about 3 videos from other users but these only promoted DVD's to buy or to send people to a site where the other videos would be there to pay for.
Also I was the first in the world to " Break it down" to the very basics as I felt that people needed to understand things from grass roots.
So I set about giving free on line tutorials without knowing what would happen as I made the videos in between house work and getting the kids ready for school, LOL!
Then in the new year 2007 I was contacted by a company that distributed Vestax dj gear and within a few phone calls I had load of DJ gear through the post, all they wanted me to do was use it in the videos.
I then contacted DJ Mag and mentioned about my concept of the free on line video lessons and after a month or so they did a little story on me. Getting about 2,000 hits a day at the time was quite an achievement( I felt).
Then I felt it was about time to get other mobile DJ's seen and heard so I organised a competition called The tenminmix, this is when a DJ can upload a video mix of them on their DJ kit for the world to see and be entered into a monthly competition with other dj's from all over the world.
( djmag, cdpool, djdownload, ministry of sound,) are now involved.
In a nut shell I am now involved with virtually every top DJ company in the world and I (to a certain degree) advise the top people as to what to do in relation to certain aspects relating to new products - to name a few - Vestax, Stanton, pacemaker, American audio, djmag, mix mag, ministry of sound, CD pool, djdownload, Sony, Blackberry, Nokia...
Everyone wants to be on the TV, but I feel this whole concept needs to be seen as I seem to be inspiring a new generation of DJ's and the funny thing is where I live, many yrs ago used to be a school!"
