"Aberystwyth Acoustic Platform produces amplified acoustic showcases for singer-songwriters and musicians, covering a range of musical styles.
Showcases are held monthly on Sundays in the 150 capacity Theatre Foyer at Aberystwyth Arts Centre, and consist of four acts performing for half an hour with professional technical support. The Acoustic Platform hosts emerging artists as well as more established acts.
We founded in 2007 and it aims to provide acoustic music acts with a great performance venue, providing suitable levels of publicity, excellent sound, and an attentive audience.
It was created so that those acts demonstrating a potential for song-writing, vocal and instrumental excellence could be heard at their best. It was also set up to provide audiences with a delightful and varied musical experience.
The Platform offers singer-songwriters and musicians an opportunity to perform at an internationally renowned arts centre, great quality live sound provided by a professional technician, free showcase publicity for their work, and a fee based on ticket sales.
It provides audiences with an opportunity to hear great live acts at an affordable price and a comfortable, ambient, and reasonably quiet atmosphere for listening to performers.
The Platform is committed to showcasing acts from mid-Wales but also accepts applications from all over the UK, submitted through its main website, listed to teh right of this page.
