"After all the hard work put in this year... and the troubles Llanidloes Fancy Dress has encountered, mainly over the dance, it was a terriffic success.
Llanidloes encountered a huge problem this year - to find a venue. Our Community centre had been closed for several months and this left organisers the worry of finding a venue. In the end this was not possible, but without too much hardship the evening still went ahead.
The Great Oak Cafe in the street of the same name held its traditional Funky Tunes and good company... The revellers were overjoyed and the party was thriving!
Walking through town I saw some amazing characters and some really brilliantly made costumes! I trundled past 3 pints of Guinness, a flock of men dressed as old ladies with rather scary things going on under their dresses, ... and saw superheroes on every corner... it was as always a lovely sight to see everyone gone to hard work to make something super special.
There was no negativity in the air... everyone was there for the same reason... to have fun, let their hair down and participate in this 38th Annual Event!
Long Bridge Street held a stage organised by Harry Love and his ace team playing local awesome live bands, Monkey Spank, The Beast With a Million Eyes, Twisted Tales, 1000 Tragic Words and The Kryptics.
Finally DJ Conan took the stage and whipped up the crowd out on the street with funky beats...
An awesome night had by all.
So a big thank you to all who put their time and blood, sweat and tears into it... I've been there... I know what it is like! and its great to see it still happening all these years on!"
