GMTV Correspondent and Presenter Jonathan Swain is a regular visitor to Llanidloes. I understand his Granny stills lives in the town the locals all like to watch to see where he is and what he is up to. It provides much comment for the ladies in the 'Milk Bar' on the High Street.

I have lived in llanidloes for 20 years, since this time I have seen alot of new changes, and sad changes to the town. The place is nice here and if your not carful time will pass you by very quickly, I run a Tae kwon do martial art club in the town, and find that I have had a great deal of good feed back on this. I also find the people to be very nice as well, and very easy to get on with. The shops may not be big in size, but they do make up for this by the ammount of stuff they sell to keep the local town's people happy. All in all Llanidloes is great! .

Llani is really nice, u should all come visit us and yes, ok, so theres not tonnes to do but it's pretty safe and there's parks and a skatepark and really nice arty type shops like 'wood'n'things'. and llani fancy dress is on first friday in July. Jezz does indeed live close by, he's a very nice man with a nice family and a very nice dog and robert smith is rarely sighted by my friends in Cwm Belan so u might need to be a bit patient if ur coming star searching. I know they're not famous yet but there are some amazing young musicians around here so keep an eye out in case they hit it big.

My family visited their log cabin in the woods at Oakley Park each holiday time. I have very fond memories of this second home which was sadly vandalised by locals in the early 1980's. As a result my children and grandchildren have missed out, and the bungalow is now derelict, but my memories are with me forever.

Jezz Woodroffe used to live in Shortbridge Street, Llani until a couple of years ago and I believe he still lives nearby. He is a pianist/keyboard player and toured with Black Sabbath in the 70s and contributed to the Technical Ecstasy album. He has also worked with Robert Plant, Phil Collins and many other famous and not so famous bands and artists.

Yes the first Laura Ashley shop did open in Llanidloes, and there is still one there now. The village, Llandinam down the road was also the home to the former Swansea City FC legend Sam-Ashley Owen.

Llanidloes is a good place to live up until the age of 5, then it gets very very boring. It is almost as bad as Y-Fan. Llandinan though, just down the road about 7 mile, is a much better place, a better nightlife and recreational things to do.

Llanidloes is very nice, pleasant place. it is also the internaational old peoples place. the best time to visit is when the world famous fancy dress is on, the first week in July or something like that. The travellers rest is also very nice and should be given 5 star recognition.

Long ago, in the late 1970s, when I was a mobile hairdresser, I was called in to a house at Llydiart-y-waen to cut the hair of a young teenager. He was 15 and needed it done for an audition for a television programme a day or so later. I still like to think that it was my haircut that got Adam Woodyatt his part in Eastenders.

Llanidloes is indeed, a very nice, quiet and peaceful settlement. i come to 'Llani' each summer for my holidays and there is plenty of exciting and pleasurable things to do. there is many great shops and services around the town, that provide great value, particularly 'Agri-power services (Trow's dad's shop).
