Y Dolydd Old Photos

Y Dolydd was built in 1838-39 to the design of local architect Thomas Penson. Known as as the Llanfyllin Union Workhouse, it was built to house up to 250 paupers. Both its location and its plan are typical of the distinctive building type established by the Poor Law Amendment Act of 1834. Click through some old photos of the workhouse below...

My father,Frank Thomas Morris (born 1907 in Llansillin) was raised in Narrow str, LLanfyllen by a Mrs Davies and was given her name,His true mother was Elizabeth Ann Morris, Stent, Llansillin. I can find nothing other than this can anyone help with my research, as I have drawn a blank after years of trying to find out.
