I attended the school from 1967 to 1974 and enjoyed my time there. Most of my fellow pupils have left the region but I still return to see the friends that have remained.

These photos take me back to year 76-82. I am surprisingly nostalgic! i remember the sixth form common room and endless coffees with mars bars near division room 1 at bottom of the stairs. Mr Haycock on the stage at assembly with the staff and head boy/girl and the rest of the girls hating sixth formers!! And I eventually became a teacher!!

The picture of the spiral staircase brought back memories as the girl's changing room was at the top. The boys would stand underneath trying to get a glimpse up our skirts so we had to climb the stairs clutching our skirts tightly between our legs. I remember once my shoe fell off and it went hurtling down the stairs followed by an insole which was trying to hide a hole in the bottom of my shoe. I would like to say thank you to the boy who caught them, replaced the insole and returned the shoe to me without a word.

Oh yes ! I remember the Gym and the Hockey field from your pics thank you! We used to play hockey against the secondary modern school, interesting times :-). I was there in 1971, my first year there. I remember June Phillips the gym/hockey teacher, I can't remember the name of my German teacher, but I remember Mr Haycock, the French teacher. I was at school with Mary Ehrenzeller and Sarah Baird-Murray & Sarah Edwards I think:-).Ruth Howells, S.A.

I went to this school from 1994-1996. Not a thing has changed. It's like time has stood still there. If anyone knew me back then and wants to cacth up, leave a message.

I attended the school from 1973 to 1978. I must admit some areas do look familiar. I remember the Chemistry lab, if ever an experiment could go wrong ours always did. We had many a suck back in test tubes. Oh happy days

Some of the photos are indeed a trip down memory lane. I attended the school, then the Grammar School, 1960 - 67. The school was opened in 1958 by Alderman T P Davies -I knew him! In those days there was no leisure centre, nor all-weather pitch, no technology block and no spiral staircase. The entrance to the school looks much the same, as does the Hall where there was a whole school service every morning in our day before lessons began. During the Service both the Head Boy & Head Girl sat on the stage together with all the Teachers. In our final year I as Head Boy and Edna Lewis as Head Girl often had to read passages from the Bible.Over the years my family have enjoyed many holidays in Llandrindod and my two daughters learned to swim in the leisure centre pool.I could go on, and very likely will on a future occasion, but would certainly like to visit the school once again and have a good look round. Our year have had two successful reunions since 1992 and the thought crosses my mind that we may be able to arrange a visit to the school when we hold our third. The other reason to write these comments is to be the first to do so!
