Cellan gets it's name from the joining of "cell" as in a monk's prayer cottage (when not inside a monastery) and "llan", the Welsh for church. Technically it should be "Cellllan", but four l's are too much, even for the Welsh.

I lived in London as a child and came down to Cellan on my holidays staying in one of several family farms. The family worshiped in Caeronnen Unitarian Chapel and our family occupied a great number of the pews during Sunday services. My greatest memories of those Sundays however was the afternoon teas that followed in the farm kitchens. Each aunt had a speciality one was a great sponge maker, always plenty of filling; another made the best apple tart of all time, there was only just enough to go around, bara brith, welsh cakes. We needednothing from the shop and the tasteful memories live with me still.
