"Building on the success of last year's show, our biggest ever! This year's will be a spectacular show of horticulture, floral and handicraft exhibitions, competitions, vintage cars, dog shows and plenty for the kids.
The day starts at 10 am in the horse rings with many events followed by the judging of the horses. The ever popular Dog Show runs through the afternoon with several classes to appeal to dog lovers of all ages.
The carnival procession, which takes place at noon and again in the evening is always a spectacle and attracts visitors from near and far. The 2009 show features the Newtown Youth Marching Corps, ATC Marching Band, Samba Band, Jazz Band and, of course the Knighton Town Silver Band. The Theme this year will be Pantomime and Nursery Rhymes.
Entertainment this year will be provided by Bernie Bennett - This comedy show is based around a free standing tightrope rig, 9 - 10ft high! We will also see The Amazing Magnus - An enthralling and highly impressive array of amazing stunts and feats with a touch of comedy, using Fire, Beds of Nails, Escapology and much more.
The Samurai Red Dragon will give Karate demonstrations during the afternoon with The Ludlow Cage Bird Society and a Sheep Spectacular also providing shows during the day.
In addition, there will be Axe Racing, Tug of War competitions, 5 a side Football, Climbing Wall, Bouncy Castles and Inflatable's. There will be plenty to see and do.
Vintage Vehicles and Classic Cars from Knighton Historic Vehicle Club will be on display. In the Drill Hall will be an exhibit of Model Railways and the Community Centre will house the craft and horticultural displays along with refreshments.
Don't miss the Carnival Processions - the first at 12.30pm and the next at 8.30pm all on the theme of Pantomime and Nursery Rhymes. The day and evening culminates with a Grand Firework Display on Bryn-y-Castle.
Spend the day with us in the beautiful Mid Wales Borderland celebrating over 40 years of the Show & Carnival. Food and refreshments will be available throughout the day.

I have taken part in many of the carnavials and they are always fun great to see everyone and i am going this year and dressing up as little red riding hood.

I have been a few times before but not in the last 5 years it's always a great day out so I'm looking forward to this year, I hope the weather will be good and then a good time will be had by all. Well done to the Show & Carnival committee I know that it takes a lot of hard work.
