Knighton Historic Vehicle Club has been up and running since 1999. In February 2007, chairman and founder member of the club, Derek Holloway from Knighton described how the group was formed:
"The Knighton Historic Vehicle Club, was formed in April 1999 and the first meeting took place in the Knighton Hotel,who have supported us ever since.
Our inaugural Newsletter was puplished in August of that year.In may 2000 we organised the Elan Valley Classic Tour. We had twenty three entries which boosted our membership.
Since then the club has doubled in size in 2006 we held twenty six event with a similar
amount for 2007.
We have classic tours,sunday lunches,quiz nights,a hog roast and bbq,monthly club meetings,an excellent christmas dinner and we also attend various show with carnival parades for good measure.
This is all supported with five newsletters.
The club is run by volunteers with the aim of fostering friendships between our members and also members of other club to promote interest in classic and historic motoring.
