I'm Profound Deaf and my 5 year old Border Collie Cross called Lucky is Deaf too. We understand each other by watching body language, and Lucky understands my commands by looking at my hand signals which is great!! She is full of life and a very happy dog!

I have two words for anyone with a Border Collie- TREAD MILL. My 12 month Border Collie is addicted to her treadmill - as long as Dog Whisperer is on! She hops on it when we mention "Uncle Cesar" and gives her opinions when her "friends" don't act appropriately. She also runs to the TV when certain breeds are discussed! We figured she is going to do our taxes this year!

Eleven years ago i had a siamese cat called whisky, although he was so clever i felt he was more human than animal!anyone who has ever had a siamese will agree.he even had pieces of music he disliked often hiding when certain songs were played!also no jumpers or cardigans were safe when he was around as he enjoyed chewing huge holes in them1 sadly he passed away in 1997, but is always remenbered and loved.

I have a fifteen month old border collie called Mia, but when left even for half an hour she chewed up the wires in the hallway and chewed through the brick wall, we just cannot leave her out, so we were advised to buy a crate for her. She does not see to mind going in it when we go out or have to go to work but I do not like the thought of having to keep putting her it in, does anyone have any ideas how I can get over this. My other border collie was fine could leave her for hours, but mia is not, totally different personality. Thanks

I have a very large amount of pets ranging from hamsters to dogs. Our dog ollie a lab x Staffie was rescued by the rspca from a top floor maisonette with no food or water. He was beaten as a pup and was very timid and scared. He has come a long way and is now a full member of our family. Unfortunatly he does not bark as he still gets scared he will get hit on the head. He is just like a baby, he lies in your arms and goes to sleep bt he weighs a tonne. We love him so much. He is the best pet any one could ask for.

Hi, I have a collie called Jack, he's nearly 4 years old we got him from Paws Rescue. We were told he's a border collie cross but no one seems to know what he's crossed with...until today. My husband was talking to a farmer who informed him that Jack is a smooth haired Welsh Collie and he's not crossed at all. Does anyone know how I can post his pic...to get an opinion? Not that it matters, we love him dearly but we are curious now :0)

I have a welsh border collie called Rosie. We got her five years ago, on holiday. The owner of our rented cottage had just had a little puppy called Dylan, and I just wanted to have one. So I pestered my Mum all week into getting one. On the day we were leaving my Mum and Dad went 'shopping' for somethings, but when they came back they had a little surprise for us.
I was looking through the window and saw my Mum holding a puppy, who I thought was Dylan, but then I noticed that he was on the floor. I ran out to my Mum snatched the puppy of her and ran into the house to show my Grandparents and younger brother. I went back out to thank my Mum for getting her and asked what the puppy's name was. She told me that I could choose. I instantly said Rosie.
When we got home with Rosie, my Mum had told me that they had been planning to get a dog for a while, and decided to go get one. They asked Doug, Dylan's owner, where he had got him from.

I have two lovely West Highland Terriers.
Mactavish(Mac) and Flora(Flo).
They live a great life, having their own meadow to run around in and most days we go down to Penbryn Beach, just a short stroll away, sometimes getting there through the woods or down the little single track lane.
The extraordinary thing about my Westies is their size - I call them Super Westies. They are pedigree brother and sister, but they are enormous for Westies evryone is most surprised by their size and our vet says they are definately the biggest Westies he has ever seen, particularly Mac, he also has a real great sense of humour - for instance if I stand talking to someone on the beach he will go behind them and dig a big hole which the person I am talking to will eventually collapse into! He also loves re-arranging all the cushions on our 3 settees throwing them all off and then looking most mischievious as if to say what do you think of that then. He also likes to jump up on me whilst I am sitting down putting a front paw on each shoulder and throughly licking my beard just for fun!
My pal Mac a real friend
