Derwen Garden Center near Welshpool, Powys. This place has everything! Themed gardens, a maze (a truly good one!), gift shop, fine restaurant, pots upon pots, plants upon plants. Lovely setting amid the hills of Montgomeryshire.

Glansevern Gardens at Berriew. Enchanting -walk round the lake, the delightful walled garden, the tea room and more. Small and friendly, but only open on Friday and Saturday.

The gardens of Powis Castle must be among the best in Mid if not the whole of Wales. The setting - high above the Severn Valley - is also spectacular.
