Professional photographer and cameraman Seimon Pugh-Jones has worked as a photojournalist specialising in the re-creation of battle scenes for an American magazine called Armchair General. In November 2008 he worked on a new project on The Great War. Read about and take a look at the creation of the piece:
Seimon:"Well, I'm glad to get this image out of my head and onto the wall at the exhibition in Aberystwyth. The whole timing thing is very important too. To hang the picture 90 years on is a very significant and poignant moment for me. Its my small contribution to the memory of the soldiers of the Great War, many from Welsh villages like the one I'm from. Many returned maimed and damaged and many never to return at all.
I'm now thinking of developing this idea... As I'm quite difficult to please and am my own worst critic, I may even re-shoot the picture at some time...
Hope you will take a little time to look at the photograph and a minute to remember those who were there."
