Click through a collection of fascinating photographs of South America in the 1940s. They were taken by the late Dr T. Ifor Rees from Bow Street, a distinguished diplomat who became Britain's first Ambassador to Bolivia in 1947.
Dr Rees took many photographs of his own family, providing rich documentary evidence of domestic life abroad in the first half of this century. Here he captures Christmas in 1923. His own caption for the picture reads:
"Morfudd & Ceredig among the toys brought by Santa Claus."
Pictures appear courtesy of Dr Rees' daughter Morfudd Rees Clarke.
