Aber Castle Mosaics

Ceredigon Museum is working with community groups to create a series of artistic mosaics charting nine key points in the history of Aberystwyth Castle. The first decorative panel has been produced by a group of young archaeologists who meet at the museum every Saturday.

The mosaic template featuring 'Charlie' the skeleton 1  2  3  4  5  6  7  8  9  10  The young archaeologists group based at Ceredigion Museum were asked to turn a skeleton found at Aberystwyth Castle into a mosaic. John Ibbotson, co-ordinator of the Young Archaeologists: "When we first got together at the museum we made a detailed study of the skeleton. They even gave him a nickname. 'Charlie' was the subject of many early meetings."
