Graham:"I have recently started looking into my family's history and have come across a photograph, from my aunts collection, of a class from the Tal- y-Bont on Usk, N.F. School, Group IV.
None of my family have any idea where the photo came from, or if it has anyhting to do with us.
My aunt's name was Sylvia Beaton and, sadly, passed away a few years ago. She was a spinster and had no children. She was born in Portsmouth, Hamspshire in 1930, but worked for most of her life as a secondary school teacher of english in Peterborough, Cambridgeshire.
I would be very interested to know if anyone could cast any light on the identities of the people in the picture. Names that are of particular interest to me are Beaton, Duke and Thorp, but any information would be gratefully recieved. I'm not even sure what the N.
F. stands for. Nationally Funded has been suggested."
