From Timbuktu to Gwernyfed

A delegation from Timbuktu visited Gwernyfed High School on 24 October 2007 during their week-long visit to Hay on Wye as part of the official twinning celebrations between Timbuktu and Hay.     Anne:"Said Ould Mahmoud and John Hopkins (Headteacher, Gwernyfed High School) shaking hands following an exchange of gifts. The leather Touareg bag on the mantelpiece was a gift for Mr Hopkins from Timbuktu. The visitors received Welsh crystal and USB memory sticks."
