Hay's 'Firefly' hurtling down Broad Street early in the twentieth century. This steam driven horse drawn pump was purchased in 1901 and remained in use for over 40 years.
Eric Lewis Pugh has also written a profile of Hay-on-Wye where his family have lived for more than 150 years.
