Mary Oldham of Newtown I attended Lisa Jardine's marvellous lecture on the Welsh novelist and critic Raymond Williams - as ever I was knocked out by Professor Jardine's knowledge, humour and intellect. It was also wonderful to be there when Gilliam Clarke and Carol Ann Duffy discussed and read their poetry. And the concert by Hugh Masakela and his musicians knocked my socks off - the whole marquee was jumping for joy by the end of the session and none of us wanted to go home. Wouldn't have missed that wonderful trumpet - that wonderful concert - for anything. Wed Jun 10 10:12:57 2009
