3rd January
Planted out 39 potatoes (Foremost) in the four beds down the right hand side of the polytunnel, had some small potatoes left over so will plant them into plastic sacks. The potatoes should be ready to start digging by Easter.
10th January
Planted out the last of the early potatoes into bags (7), two per bag except for one.
11th January
Planted out two more rows of garlic (brought from Seeds of Italy), there were three cloves two of which were red as expected and one white, finished the row with one from the kitchen. Sowed five rows of broad beans (Aquadulce Claudia). Sown another 12 into pots and put them into the cold frame.
24th January
Brought 20 Edzall Blue and 40 Jersey Royal potatoes from Brondesbury. Will start chitting them and hope to plant them in mid February.

Sown 12 runner beans (Armstrong) into the root trainers and a mixture of salads (Bijou, Mixed and Cut and Come Again Lettuce, Rocket Olive Leaf Wild, Land Cress American Salad and Lamb's Lettuce Elan).

I am considering purchasing either a glass house or a poly tunnel, at our new home which has a good sized, but uneven and sloping garden. We haven't tried a polytunnel before, advantages being larger area covered and much cheaper (we're considering a 10' x 15' tunnel). We would be very grateful for your views and Timmy's experiences with his polytunnel.PS Can't find anyone in Wales who makes/delivers polytunnels!!
