No summer day is complete without the sun, the shades, a packet of chocolate biscuits and a garden full of vibrant, colourful wild flowers. A lot of people ask Dr. Elisabeth A. Harris of the Powys Flora Conservation Project for advice on the best wild flowers to grow in the garden for wildlife. The slideshow below shows her top 7. Lis:Foxgloves are majestic in the wild garden and are ideal for planting under a tree or in a border next to a hedge. Flowers are pink, purple or white. Bees visit the flowers and crawl over the long hairs in the corolla tube to feast on the sugary-rich nectar at its base. The foxglove is the emblem of the old county of Montgomeryshire."
