I have just started making garden gnomes. What paint should I use and do they need to be varnished? Thanks

My children love these happy gnomes. We holiday in Llwydiarth every year and pass the gnomes often on our route. We have a family ritual of stopping to wave to the gnomes, albeit surreptitiously if anyone else is around.
Thanks Dilys, your a star.

We love Dilys' Gnomes. Ours are getting a bit jaded, and we were wondering if you could tell us what paint to use and if it can be bought online? Thanks keep up the good work

We pass your garden every day
and see your little gnomes,
they make us laugh, they makes us smile,
rattling all our bones.

Dilys you are a 'star'. Gnomes are great and don't let anyone tell you otherwise. They are gauranteed to make people smile and they are harmless and humorous.
Six months ago I started a 'fun' web site which includes the world's largest picture gallery of antique, modern garden gnomes from around the world. I can assure you that you are not alone in liking gnomes. For your information I have had 24,667 hits since I started the site and the most popular page by far are the 'Rude'gnomes. Have a laugh and enjoy. www.gnomeland.co.ukThe BBC is not responsible for the content of external websites.
