Lime Workshop

A special heritage day about preserving historic buildings was held in Cardigan on Tuesday 27 September 2005. BBC Restoration presenter Marianne Suhr gave a demonstration on working with lime, a traditional building material used for rendering and pointing. For a taste of the workshop, click through the photos below but do take expert advice before trying it yourself.

    The workshop was led by Marianne Suhr from the BBC's Restoration series and Cliff Blundell from the Lime Company of West Wales. Lime is used on buildings with shallow foundations that need to be able to breathe and move.
