Jig-so children's centre

Father and child

Last updated: 21 April 2008

Canolfan Plant Jig-So Children's Centre hosts a Dad's Club every Saturday in Cardigan through out the year. Debra Davies-Russell, co-ordinator of Jig-So Children's Centre told us more in April 2008:

"All dads, granddads, uncles with children are welcome. It starts at 10 am until 12 mid day. Two qualified staff members are present and we aim to provide quality play time for dads and their children and a chance to socialise.

Jon (a regular user of the club.) said:'As a father of 3 children i find the Saturday Dad's Club provides time for myself and my children to be together in a friendly environment. Its a chance for us dads to get together and talk about our views on being a dad. Staff are friendly and helpful and brilliant cooks, especially bacon and eggs!'

'Dad's Club is a time when we can be dads first and foremost, with no pressures from what you do for a living or other views that may colour your day to day life.'

Sally (a regular user of Jig-So throughout the week said:'As a mum I think that dads club is fantastic! It gives the children quality time with their dad and also allows me to have some time to myself, allowing me to be a person in my own rights for that 2 hours. It also helps with the daily running of our house because the children seem to respect dad more for spending this special time together.'

Not only is Dad's Club great for dads and their children but its great for mums also! We are situated in the Youth Centre, opposite St.Marys Church.

If you are a dad and wish to take your children somewhere to spend play time with them and socialise with other dads then either turn up on a Saturday or if you require further information please contact Debra through this site.

Our service is free. Refreshments available(at a small cost) .We will be organising various activities through the summer including a Community Fun Day on 2 August 2008

Dads Club will be closed on that Saturday because dads will hopefully be participating. Jig-So is open throughout the week, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday 9.30 am-2.30 pm. Everyone with a child(mainly pre-school)is welcome. Our facilities are free!

Anyone who wants to join can contact us at 2, Pontycleifion, Cardigan. SA431DW."
