For the River Festival, try and include a competitive Charity Swim from Cilgerran to Cardigan (A Two Castles Swim!) In Perth, Australia every year, 3,200 local and International swimmers do a 15 kilometer swim from the mainland to Rotnest Island. (The few ocean sharks are frightened away!) A supervised 4 kilometer down river swim from from Cilgerran would be easy for volunteer and invited competitors, including some willing Aussies. It would be an exciting worthwhile spectacle and would attract tourist amd marketing interest.
