Goggled my old home village to show my mates down under in New Zealand, awesome site, it seems so close but yet so far away, went to Caersws primary School until 1978,& caersws presbyterain, even worked behide the bar a the football club for a while, now working as a District Nurse in Auckland city, NZ.hope one day to pop back for a drink in the Buck.

A great site, loved the photos gives me a true feel for the town, as I'm coming to visit the area in 2010. I have family papers for Jane [Savage] Lewis,born 20/11/1846 Caersws and died 5/08/1872, buried Trefeglwys. Jane's son WILLIAM SAVAGE LEWIS, father Richard LEWIS, Chemist of Towyn,sailed to Australia and is my Grandfather WILLIAM SAVAGE LEWIS jnr's father. Is Jane the sister of William Savage of Trefeglwys,age 79 yrs died 12th June 1930?? as the family held respectfully the Montgomeryshire Times Obituary.All interesting questions for my trip to your beautiful part of the world..

My grandparents (long deceased - Surname Lewis) used to live in a stone cottage on a hill overlooking/near Caersws before the war. I remember going there as a child 50 years ago to see where my grandparents lived before they died. A beautiful place.Would be grateful for any information regarding Lewis family graves etc. as I intend to visit from Australia this September.

I live two miles from Caersws in a small village. I have lived here all my life. I went to the Primary school at Caersws then on to Llanidloes High School.The same as our two teenagers. Caersws has just held the 2007 Quoits International between Wales & Scotland. My hubby was captain for Wales. Everyone in Caersws is friendly and has always got time to chat.

I live at Carnedd and I would be so nice to see any old photos of Carnedd. The out buildings are now falling down and the only place you can see that the house was once black and white (oak timber framed)is from the inside. It would be nice to see any photos.

Stubbled on this micro site. I used to live in the village from about 1978-1982. My parents used to own the Unicorn. I went to the local primary school and then onto Llanidloes High School. I live in Oxfordshire, England now.
I want to visit soon and wanting to make contact with old friends before I do.
