Brian Whitehead from Tring This year saw a consistent high standard of jazz entertainment. Highlights were Rossiano Sportiello with Scott Hamilton at The Castle and Houston Person at The Watton Marquee. Nearly as good were British performers Stan Tracey with the Hexad, Newton / Barker / Dankworth and also Pete King Sextet and finally The Statesmen of Jazz and also Benny Golson from The States. The only disappointment was Courtney Pine who entertained but failed to display his wonderful musicianship in a jump & jive programme. Mon Sep 4 11:26:15 2006
Carole Crook from Cambridgeshire My first time at the festival and I thought it was absolutely fantastic. It was so nice just to be able to wander in and out of the venues, and there was so much to choose from that the programme was almost too varied!!!! It was organised so well and I felt safe at all times Thu Aug 17 14:18:35 2006
