Memories

Danny Moss & Jeanie Lambe For one unique August weekend the small town of Brecon is taken over by the sound of jazz. Were you at this year's festival? If so, why not share your views and experiences with us.

  • 2004 Memories

Jane Wildeboer from Chichester, West Sussex is already excited about the 2004 festival :

"2003 was my 11th consecutive visit to Brecon Jazz. It's a big highlight of my year and I wouldn't miss it for the world - Hiromi was spectacular - what an act to see on a Stroller! In fact the whole Stroller programme was a treasure trail of wonderful music. Thankyou - I'm already excited about 2004!"

Tony Claydon from Enfield is looking forward to the 2004 festival :

"We have been going to Brecon Jazz for many years, and continue to look forward to this event. We are awaiting confirmation of artists so we can book our accomaodation."

Lia from Enfield sent us this email:

"Great weekend, Oli Rockberger was fab on Saturday afternoon!"

Mike Skilton from Gilwern, Monmouthshire had this to say about the 2003 event.

"Hiromi was definitely the highlight of Brecon -her bass player and drummer also v.good! Never heard piano playing like it and will definitely invest in one of her CDs. Koolkatz in Wellington Square were also v.enjoyable".

Ian Latham from London however wasn't impressed:

"A rather sorry looking collection of second rate jazzers. What has has hapened to this festival? It's really gone downhill this year."

Sue from Basingstoke has just returned from Brecon and is already looking forward to next year's festival.

"Have just come back, had to leave mid afternoon on Sunday but have to say what a brilliant weekend. Excellent! First Class!! Can't praise the organisation and the artist enough. Only problem was the absolute idiots who insist on getting drunk and acting like complete fools. Other than that I can't praise it enough and will return next year with even more friends. Great to see young and old alike enjoying the sounds!!"
