"The Brecon Children's Contact Centre, which operates in St Michael's Catholic Church Hall in the town centre, provides a neutral meeting place where children from separated families can enjoy the love and companionship of their non-resident parent and other family members, where there is no viable alternative.
The centre aims to alleviate some of the hardship and distress these children feel when there is a family break-up.
At the centre play equipment is provided for all ages that will help to encourage the child and visiting adult to play together and build their relationship ensuring that they are spending quality time together.
The centre, which has been up and running since October 2007, is open twice a month on the 1st and 3rd Saturday of each month and was officially opened on 14th November 2007 by Judge Wyn Rees.
The Contact Centre is a registered charity and a non-profit making organisation and has received grant funding from Lloyds TSB and Awards for All.
Volunteers are required to help man the centre and all volunteers and staff are trained to a high standard to ensure that all clients are offered the best possible service.
