"It piggy-backs Brecon Jazz, but in addition to an eclectic mix of music from all over the UK the Fringe offers local bands, some well known and others newly emerging, the opportunity to play before large audiences from all over the UK and abroad.
There are over 100 live performances and events over 3 days, and they are mostly free! The Fringe takes place in and around the bustling market town of Brecon, situated in the Brecon Beacons National Park.
Most of the gigs take place in pubs and the party atmosphere attracts crowds of all ages including young families. Further information and contact details can be obtained from the Brecon Fringe website listed on this page."

What a wonderful weekend. Brecon is awesome. We were billed as headline act for Sunday at the Gremlin Hotel. WOW! Great venue, fantastic organisation and a wonderful crowd. We seemed to go down well. The great crowd stuck with us all afternoon and we ended up being asked to do a 3rd set. Thank you Mary and Gareth and all the Staff at the Gremlin. Roll on 2010 Festival.

It looks as though there will be a Fringe Festival 2009 even if the Jazz festival is postponed. ..A gap year for Brecon Jazz festival would be disastrous both for the local economy and future of the festival.

Congratulations on a great opening night for the fringe at The Clarence. Virgil & The Accelerators were a name I hadn't heard before but one i'll be following closely from now on. Surely this boy will go onto great great things! As for his 14 yr old brother on drums he was tight powerful and showed glimpses of true magic. Excellent support from older band members, shame a lot of people couldn't show more appreciation for the prowess they have as musicians based solely on age.

Up to date listings for Brecon Fringe Festival are now available online. The Brecon Fringe Guide will be published on July 31st and will be available free of charge from Brecon shops, pubs, campsites etc. Once again it has been funded entirely by local businesses so please would all visitors to Brecon Fringe Festival (and also Brecon Jazz) support Brecon retailers, especially the smaller independent ones, during the Festival. The Fringe Festival promises to be really good again this year with many new performers - watch out for a mini gig on the B&R balcony overlooking the Bulwark 3-4pm Sat 9th to Sun 10th August.
