The Submerged Forest Revealed

At low tides the remains of an ancient submerged forest are revealed at Borth. Click through some pictures taken on 2 January 2006 by Neill from Borth and in March 2006 by Chris Lakin.

Excellent pics. We've seen the forest today and would like more info. How old is it? How are those old groynes so far down the beach? How was the land submereged and when? Some history of Borth would be helpful.
