"The Seashore Guide is published by the Countryside Council for Wales and is crammed with pictures of fish, snails, sponges, sea squirts, worms and birds you can find on seashores around Wales.
The Guide has lots of facts about the seashore and its wildlife together with seaside activities for children of all ages. There are also activities to try out at home. These include being a beach detective, making a 'goggle box' to watch animals in rockpools and creating a multi-coloured 'sandscape'.
Points can be scored throughout the book and, if you get enough, you can apply for a Countryside Explorer Certificate.
Sally Ellis, who worked on the project for CCW said: "The Seashore Guide is great to take down to the beach, along any part of Wales' 1,600km coastline."
"It will tell you about the strange animals that live in the area between the tides and give you ideas for exploring nature and having fun."
