In the 1950's as young lads my father had the wonderful idea one day of walking to Clarach from Aberystwyth by the sea whilst the tide was out. As I recall, not a trip for the faint hearted!!Mother was all of a panic, we lads thought it was a great adventure and Dad tried to reassure everyone that'll be "alright until the tide turned". And it did and I remember having to scamper over the rocks for the last quarter of a mile or so with the sea chasing us in.We made our return journey via the coastal footpath over Constitution Hill back to Aberystwyth, a far more ! sensible option!!
